So kind of stumped on this issue. Looking for some advice. I finished building a DPMS spec AR10. Im using an aero lower DSI upper with an F1 BCG and a anderson barrel 1:10 twist. I started with 4 round in the magazine of winchester core lokt 150 grain ammo. The rifle will do 1 of 2 things and is unpredictable to when it will do one or the other. It either fires the round and ejects in just fine and will not pick up the next round. I tried with one round in the mag and it will not catch the bolt hold back when empty. second thing it will do is fire perfectly eject the round and pick the next round up but jams upon entering the barrel. When it does that the round gets dented and i have to release the mag lock the bolt open and the round will fall out. Any advice is to what can be wrong with this thing?
So I am still experiencing this issue and want to exhaust every possible solution before I take it to a shop. Gun will short stroke causing FTF by completely missing the next round leaving streaks on the brass or it jamming. it also fails to lock the bolt after the last round. I have checked the gas system and there are no apparent leaks to me. I have noticed when I clean the gun brass particles around the barrel/feed ramps and BCG. Is it possible the feed ramps of the upper and the barrel not being 'lined' up or cut to match each other would cause short stroking?
Thanks
Thanks
2014 issue of American Rifleman, Field Editor Stanton Wormley explores the concept and construction of a home-defense AR. Here he discusses the platform's user-resolvable reliability. So my ar is short stroking i think.its not picking up the next round out of mag.iv tried. Id have to look at the chare im using, cant remember.
